Proliferation of gynaecological scientific societies and their financial transparency: an Italian survey
Conclusions The number of obstetrical and gynaecological societies is remarkably high in Italy, particularly in the gynaecological area. Despite CME activity provision, transparency of societies regarding financial issues and competing interests was almost non-existent. Policies addressing the interactions between medical associations and industry are available and should be implemented.

The medical simulation blog: A pilot project in Italy
Med Educ Online. 2021 Dec;26(1):1920089. doi: 10.1080/10872981.2021.1920089.ABSTRACTIntroduction: In Italy, medical simulation is undergoing a phase of intense diffusion, establishing a more decisive and uniform role in medical education. Educators receive many opportunities to train in simulation education, but these provide little room for personal growth and collaboration. This could have a negative impact on education quality and the standardization of processes. Thus, we found a gap in new information technology use, specifically in the informal diffusion of medical simulation content knowledge. Using a blog platform,...

Post-graduate medical education in public health: the case of Italy and a call for action.
We report relatively high employment rates across the county and wide spectrum of career opportunities for young public health specialists. However, job security is low and training expectations only partially met. We call upon other Schools of Public Health to scale up the survey within the broad ASPHER community in a shared and coordinated action of systematically collecting useful data that can inform the development of public health education and training models, their implementation and fruitful interaction with population health, health systems and services. The ecology of medical care in Switzerland: prevalence of illness in the community and healthcare utilisation in Switzerland.
CONCLUSIONS: This study represented an attempt to map the healthcare utilisation of the Swiss population. These results may be useful for further delineation of healthcare policies and medical education to meet the demand and needs of people in Switzerland. They indicate that general practitioners are the most important healthcare resource in Switzerland. Compared with specialists, they provide twice as much health advice at less costs. To optimise the health care system in Switzerland, we suggest to allocate resources where they are most needed. PMID: 32365218 [PubMed - in process]
